The Britain in Pictures series presents an important collection of images from the Press Association's unique archive, most of which have lain unseen since they were first used in the newspapers of their day. The 1960s overturned the country's old order and brought in the new as economic boom reverberated: governments fell through scandal; spies were exposed in the heart of the establishment; England won the World Cup; the arts, fashion and entertainment industries burst with new ideas and young people dominated events.
